Our friend POE

 On April 10 our good companion and friend Poe had to be put to sleep. She was hit by car that morning . The car never stopped and we are not sure when or how she got out front and it is not like her to go wandering. We were baffled. The car dislocated her knee and hip. It also broke her hip socket and they believe she had nerve damage in her foot since she would let her paw roll over. SHe was very brave and I believe she knew that it was her day to go. When we brought her in I wrapped her in a blanket and put my heating pad on her since she was shaking from shock. We also rubbed wintergreen on her hip since it was obvious it was dislocated and rubbed lavender on her snout and paws. It helped calm her right down. We took her into the vet where they informed us of her injuries and the bill would come to over $4000. We just don't have that kind of money for our dog even when we loved her. Our family was heartbroken!!! Roscoe was heartbroken! We brought her home and the kids put together a burial service for her. Cyndell played Families can be together Forever and the other kids sang. It was so SAD!! We loved Poe. She was a unique one of a kind pain in the drain dog! She was loyal and always at our feet. We miss her, but are glad she is in good hands now.
See how her leg was twisted and her paw is rolled over the top of its self. You can also see or I can since we know her that her hip is out of the socket. A friend of ours lost their dog a few weeks prior and I think she put it best when she said "No dog story ends happy". I guess that is true we always out live them.
