Olivers Surgery

On January 13th Oliver had his tonsils, adenoids and a hernia repair. He recovered alot faster then Oscar did. I believe it was because from the 2nd he came out of surgery I started smothering him in essential oils. He was not happy when he first came out of surgery so I went and grabbed our lavender to rub on him. He calmed down immediately. I continued to rub them on him consitently. Even when the chatty nurses came in and closed my door and told us we stunk. They were very proffesional. Oliver had an additional surgery then Oscar and he was esasily a week ahead of Oscar on his recovery time. The only difference was I hadn't learned about doTERRA essential oils yet. I am really glad to have both the boys surgeries over with. When you have 5 kids it's quite a hasel. I am very grateful the friends that made it possible and as easy as it could be for our family. The Towers and the Flamms were amazing!! Now that I really am 2 months behind and I am going to do my best to get caught up today.

We weren't planning on getting to go home but Oliver did really good at getting us home. They released us at about 8 pm. We had arrived at 5am. Oscar came with Roscoe to pick us up.

Oliver would not go back to sleep after his surgery. It took until around 5pm to get him to go back to sleep. He was suppose to sleep all day.

He was covered in a rash for most of  the day including the palms of his hands. They said it wasn't anything to worry about, easy for them to say. Oliver had to stay on blow by air for about 4 hrs after his surgery, everytime they tried to turn it off his oxygen would drop back into the 80's.
When came time for his surgery he hopped in the car and drove right back with the anesthesiologist. He was SO BRAVE!!

They have Life specialist to help calm kids. This lady came and let oliver put an ivy in his "buddy" and show him how to breath the sleepy gas. SHe was very sweet with him. Until he woke up from his surgery, Oliver thought it all was big fun. My pics are backwards. THat's life.
