Cyndell is an amazing young woman. I am still adjusting to saying young woman and Cyndell in one sentence. Strange! She is smart and sweet and helpful and thoughtful. She is courageous. She has courage I never had, I suppose she got that from her dad. She confronts life and people head on regardless of how she feels. It amazes me. She amazes me. Cyndell was interviewed to progress to Young Women and received her first Temple recommend on Oct 31,2010. On her bday, the Young Women went to the Temple to perform baptisms for the dead. CYndell was able to do this with them. It was a neat and emotional day for me. Cyndell opted out of cake with the family to be able to do this with the Young Women.
In our home you have to be 12 to have your ears pierced. Cyndell has waited a really "long" time to have hers pierced. She was super excited! I can't think of anyone better then Millie to help her be brave. Millie held her hand the entire time. It was really cute and kind of funny. Cyndell is pretty wimpy when it comes to needles and pokes, Millie was the perfect person to encourage Cyndell. Cybdell chose her birthstone for her first earring.
The anticipation....
Mom and her big kid
When it wa time I walked Cyndell over to the church to meet up with the Young Women leaders to go to the Temple. This was a very big deal for me. I was handling this all really well until Kristen arrived as soon as I saw her car pull up I started to ball and couldn't get a grip. I knew I was waiting for Kristen so I could leave Cyndell for this moment in her life, what I wasn't aware of was how much it meant to me to be able to send my daughter with one of my closest friends. Kristen is the Laurel instructor. I knew at that moment that although 12 is still very small I was having to let go of a small part of Cyndell and trust that Roscoe and I had prepared her enough and given her tools she needed to prepared for this time in her life. It's a hard thing to do, it goes against the natural parent in you. That is part of why I was so grateful to have Kristen with her. I am not even sure I am making sense at this point. Part of why it takes so long to post or I don't write long entries is because there is usually lots of kids around and writing with interruption can be discouraging. At this moment I have 5 kids under 4 within feet of me. If I don't make sense Just know it all made sense in my head. Smile.

She is such a beautiful, intelligent, strong, and inspiring young woman (that is weird to say).
We love you Cyndell.
I have learned that the bricks we put on her head where not heavy enough so we will use concrete blocks for the rest of them!

The knifes Roscoe made for her are beautiful what a talant he has. Now lets hope she gets to use them in January when she goes hunting.
