Last Monday I went to the kids school to help with a tye dye project. One of the moms had called me the week before and asked if I could help out. I was very on board for this project. I took the twins to my moms (THANK YOU MOM), then went to the school to start my adventure. I didn't get any pictures at the school, it was a bit crazy. We were doing both 6th grade slasses which is around 60 kids. My tye-dye process started at 9:30 am and ended at 12 am the following morning. I did have about a 2 hr break while I went to get pizzas, cook pizzas and set up for Monday night football. How this ended up playing out was...after the kids had dyed their shirts they needed to cure for a while then be rinsed 4-5 times until the water ran clear, then soaked in a chemical that sets the dye, then rinsed again, and put on hangers to dry. ALL of the shirts came home with me! It took a bit to figure out how my system was going to work ecspecially with the kids and football. Cyndell and Lillian helped out for most of the time. They went through the shirts to make sure the name on the bottom of the bag matched the name on the tag in the shirt and re wrote any names that we were afraid were going to rinse off. Then we opened the bags removed the rubber bands, then onto the rinsing system. I was so grateful for Cassie! She came for football, but hung outside with me for a few hours to help. THANK YOU THANK YOU!! After football, around 9 Roscoe was able to join me. I was so happy because I was loving doing this project so much that I wanted him to come out and play too! I really did love every minute that it took to do this project. It was so FUN! I made a fire in our fire pit for us for the whole night. I had a fire going, I was bare foot, wet, muddy, my hands are still dyed and my trees were decorated with tye-dye shirts. I can't think of a project that I have ever enjoyed that much. HOORAY for TYE-DYES!!!
Hooray for friends that help!

My hands were so tired by the end of the night from wringing out shirts for hours. I guess what good would my hands be if they couldn't become tired from work??

Rinse Rinse Rinse

I had SO MUCH FUN!!
MAybe our new halloween decorations.
We decided we should dye a pair of sheets while we were at it. They turned out great and colorful. Oh the possibilities. I can sell tyr dyes out of the hood of my soon to be new 1973 slug bug. SMILE!!
When we were done we had to move them inside to dry for the night. It's not warm enough at night to dry them outside and since they had to be ready by 11 the next day, in they came. They must have smelled like campfire alot because I dreamt that our house caught on fire that night.
I had to hurry and fold them on tuesday morning and get them to the school, somehow I ran out of time. Go figure!
