FLAMING GORGE 2010

Our trip this year was an adventure. We left on June 10th the weather was good that day. We weren't sure what to expect with the wild weather we have had so we prepared for hot, warm and COLD. Thursday we got all set up then spent the day relaxing and enjoying just being with freinds and our KIDS. Friday morning the boys left to spend the day cutting firewood while us ladies hung out at camp. Cyndell, Lillian and I took the little kids for small hike down to the lake while Kim took her nap with her mom. That was our one trip to the lake because it was the only day warm enough to even think about getting close to the water. I am glad we had the one warm day. The next 2 days were so COLD. I can't say that it wasn't fun because despite the cold WET weather it still was nice to be away. Saturday was the twins 3rd bday which I will post about on it's own. Ben and Nicole came up with the suggestion that we go check out the visitor center in Reds Canyon to pass the time and keep the kids warm. It was a beautiful drive! The visitor center was very cool and entetaining for the kids. THey have an amazing glass window that overlooks the green. They also have puzzles, coloring and a 30 minute movie for the kids. IT was perfect and provided about 4 hours of dry warmth for us. Saturday our tent started leaking but not enough that we felt to worried, that was before it rained for 10 and half hours straight. Roscoe and I were up all of saturday night knocking the rain puddles off the tent and wiping it dry from the inside so the kids wouldn't get wet. I took all of our rain coats and spread them across the kids heads and shoulders so atleast the top of them wouldn't get wet in their beds. That was a night I wish to never repeat. Every time I would start to get to worried I would think that worst case scenario we could climb into our car and crank on the heater. That helped to keep me calm about the whole situation. Sunday we packed up and came home. On our way out there was fresh snow on the ground. CRAZY!! I still wouldn't have changed one minute of our trip I am smarter, stronger camper because of it. Stay tuned for pics from the twins bday, and Oscars surgery.
This rainbow made me very happy when I saw it. I always think of my little sister when I see a rainbow. I learned about Heavenly Father gave us rainbows in the Bountiful temple on the day she and Brady were married. It's beautiful!

Our crew at the lake

I love them! One of my favorite wild flowers. Reminds me of our cabin and beautiful bouqets that Codie and I would pick for our little cabin.
Our little hikers. I got a kick out of watching all these feet march up the hill Oliver and Kim entertaining each otherCheck out that dirty mug. She loves to play in the dirt and I hope she always will.
Friends!Lillian spent the day collecting and sorting rocks. Cyndell dancing to the music in her head for us .LOL!
We heated water up so all 7 kids could have a little sponge bath. MY girls ecspecially liked this. They really did!Nothing is better then having each other.

This is the visitor center looking out over the green. A small lake we passsed on our way out of Red canyon. We stopped to pick willow branches to make hot dog roasters.

Jager gave me these flowers. He never passes a flower that he doesn't stop to pick it and give one to me. That is something that is priceless! Everytime he gives me one it makes my entire spirit and body smile. I love him!

I am positive I would be happy if I never had to see snow again. I LOVE SUMMER!!

I can not imagine camping in the rain but i think about it and i might like it if the tent where big enough not our little one. I looks like you had so much fun even with the rain. Well at least the kids did they allways have fun no matter where they are.

Ahh! Camping with 3 is rough, even with a big tent. But 7??? CRAZY! Your amazing handling all of that and still having so much fun of your own :) Joey and Lilly would have a blast...they could sort and identify rocks all day long...remember that kiss Lilly stole from him when we stayed at my mom's and had a BBQ?? That was priceless.... :)
