Mustang Ridge

About 6 months ago we planned a camping trip with us and the Towers. We were thinking June should be warm beautiful nice weather. Boy were we wrong! COme the 11th the day we were planned to leave it was pouring but we were still going. I was so excited to be getting out of the house with the fam but hesitant to be going in the rain, but the reservations had been made and we were off. It poured rain the entire drive and stopped right about as we got there so we could get all of our tents up and everything pulled from the trailers into the tents. Luckily we went with camping pros so they were very equiped and had a great wall tent that we ALL were able to fit in and eat in. When it would rain we would gather up all our chairs and settle in till the rain would stop. Even with the rain it was beautiful, relaxing and more then nice to get away for a few days. The first night basically consisted of setting up camp and getting situated. The next day was the twins 2nd bday. Can you believe that?? They are 2!! Anyway the boys went to chop firewood all day while us moms and kids hung around camp and played. I took all the kids down to the beach for a bit whil Nicole and the her girls napped until the dark clouds started to roll in. When we got to camp I took my first spin at Dutch oven cooking (unsupervised) and made the twins a chocolate cake for their bday. I thought it was disgusting, the boys ate it so I guess it was atleast edible to the male mouth. Saturday was spent down at the beach and playing around camp. Sunday was clean up day. On our way home we stopped at the shooting range and shot off our guns. We had an amazing time with the Towers and look forward to many more camping trips with them. Here are tons of pictures and believe me I could have put up way more then i did. There for me anyway!!

This picture cracks me up!! That really is just it.This was about a 3 min walk from our campsite. It was gorgeous! A little scary to have all the kids up here on the edge at once but a view!Oliver Happy Birthday baby! This picture really doesn't show just how dirty they really were from cutting burnt wood all day. They went down into Dutch John and had a shower at the truck stop after this.I love this picture she is such a sweet baby! You two are so silly and so much fun. I can't believe it has been 2 years already. I love having these boys they make me laugh and smile ALL day long. They aer the best of friends and are always with each other. if they are not together they are asking for the other brother. I feel so blessed to be the mother of these 2 wonderfuly funny sweet boys! After the boys brought the wood in I thought it would be a nice break to chop wood instead of chase the boys for awhile. So Roscoe and I traded jobs.Singing Happy Birthday Oscar at his 2 year lst week weighed 24lbs and was 30 inchesOliver at the 2 year last week weighed 27 lbs and was 31 inches. So he still has some weight on his brother and I guess always will.Oscar and Oliver say cheese!BenIt was funny Ben was throwing these rocks that as big as him in the water and this one actually looked like it was about to pick him up and take him with it right into the lake. That would have been funny!Whatcould be better then throwing rocks in the water for hours???Dad and OscarMom and OliverEnjoying the beach together. These are over exsposed but i like them any way.FINALLY!!!They boys hangin' outRoscoe read the kids Fable HAven every night around the campfire. SHe has a great aim!I am giving Nicoles pistol a whirl. If you look close you can see I have my eyes shut. Yep that is what I automaticaly did every time the gun fired. I really had to concentrate and force myself to not close my eyes.Lillian trying out her aim on her siters shotgunme shooting my grandpa Eds 308 that my dad gave to Roscoe for the first time. Its funny that these guns don't make me nearly as nervous as the little guns no matter how hard they kick me in the shoulder.

The kids plugging their ears from the guns.
