The mountain man Rendevous
At Rosecrest. On May 21st the fourth grade put on a rendevous. Roscoe and I volunteered to do a booth teaching the kids how to tie different kinds of knots. Roscoe spent the week leading up to teaching me how to tie 10 different kinds of knots so I could help him teach the kids. Can I just say that knots can be very frustrating. We have some friends that let us borrow our perfect outfits so we could really get into the whole rendevous thing. Thanks you Freshmans! In the days leading up to the rendevous the kids had to earn pelts so they could go to the trading post and buy necessities and fun things for their families. The other booths that were going on was a Tall Tale booth, trading post, knot tying, watermelon seed spitting, panning for gold, scones, hatchet throwing, leather punching, wanted posters, dutch oven cooking and a potato sack race. It was very well organized. The kids had areally fun time and so did us parents. If you look behind us in the pictues you can kinda of see the board that Roscoe and I (mostly Roscoe) made with the differet knots on it. It will be able to get lots of use with the scouts also.
